The Link To Gov. Arnold Schwarzenegger’s Report
For those of you that thought that Arnold has not helped us here in the film industry, the above link is proof of the opposite.
Lots of people are quick to blame Arnold (or their mom or dad or wife or therapist) Â for the lack of film jobs in the State Of California.
It’s really easy to blame someone else for your problems.
Part of the problem is certainly that California was asleep at the switch, but hey, this is s huge state with many diverse interests.
Is is California’s fault that New Mexico, Louisiana, Massachusetts, Georgia, Michigan and countless other states and countries are telling productions that they can do it for less?
Ask any producer that lives here in California and works in movies, television and television commercials where they would rather shoot.
Ask them if they like missing their kids birthdays, and birth’s in some cases.
Ask them if they like staying in hotels.
In fact ask yourself if you like any of these things.
We need to start to realize the big picture here.
The work is being siphoned off of California, not because it is too expensive to shoot here, but because we are in a civil war with other states over tax incentives.
If you want to make a change, you need to be the change.

We do not want to become another Detroit.
Below is a thank you speech that I made while I was shooting a film in Detroit in May of this year.
It’s only 3 min. long, so you can open your mail while you are listening to it, but glance up a few times to see the visual of Detroit and the Packard Motor Plant that I shot in front of.
The thank you speech/documentary was for the LA City Council for honoring Mike Kehoe and myself for the short film called Ordinary Average Guys Mike and I made.
If you subscribe to www.shootmoviesincalifornia.com  you will find out about the screening coming up.
