The Milken Institute Released The Report Below Called; Film Flight:Lost Production And Its Economic Impact On California

This Report was the hard work of three people from The Milken Institute.

The Milken Institute has a pretty impressive Mission Statement, click here to read it.

Managing Economist and Director, The California Center, Kevin Klowden,

Senior Research Analyst Anusuya Chatterjee and

Senior Research Analyst Candice Flor Hynek.

If you click on the word “This Report” above in blue it will take you to The Milken Institute website where you will see the report on the right side of the page.

You will see a a small green banner that says “View PDF”.

Click on that link and it will download the 41 page report for free.

Also underneath that you can watch a short video of Kevin Klowden talking about the report.

I put the authors of this report in blue so that you could see who they are.

When you go to their respective pages, I would encourage you to acknowledge them for their hard work on this report.

This report is our “medicine” to the politicians so that they can see in black and white and in spreadsheets how “ranaway” production is effecting us in dollars and cents.

Please feel free to forward this link to any and all of your friends that are in the entertainment industry here in California and also those who rely on the benefits of the entertainment industry here in California.

Ed, this was a great report, but the high multilpier I mention on my blog from this report when compared with most other multipliers used in other reports--The Milliken number is way higher and could be seize upon by critics of film incentives as an example of distorting data to make the job losses appear much more profound. If this is somewhat dishonest, it's gonna hurt us more to use it and the distortion is figured out by the anti-incntive crowd.

Just out of curiousity..what are yout resources, Adrian, for saying the Milikin numbers are distorted....I'm one of the many Californians who can attest to the fact that they are not.
