Los Angeles City Councilman Paul Krekorian Talks About California’s Tax Incentive

Below is an interview that I did with Paul Krekorian last November before he was elected to the Los Angeles City Council.

Paul was the Assemblyman that helped pass the FIRST TAX INCENTIVE  FOR CALIFORNIA.

Paul talks about how hard it was to pass this bill and what it means for California.

Hey ask paul why it should be so hard to pass an incentive that has PROVEN itself over and over in other states to bring in big bucks? huh? why paul? what part of SAVING JOBS doesn't the "safely elected" understand? We don't get jobs back, you folks won't get voted in again. simple THAT'S MY incentive.

I have to say that offering the incentive is one thing and benefiting in the small towns and areas w/in California are another. As UPM I had more red tape to deal with in Sacramento - California's Capital City! And, that doesn't include the other forms to file if you want to use squibs or prop guns. It's literally easier to go to Serbia to film where they are there to help you make the pre-production process easier and more accommodating rather than say 'Yes you can film in California, BUT you can use this, that or do this and that....." there are a lot of bugs to work out. Sorry folks.
