As you might know by now, The Talking Cow Commercials which advertise that only Happy Cows come from California ( as long as they shoot the TV Commercials in California) took their commercial on the road and shot in New Zealand last year.
After an article in LA Times by Richard Verrier came out, the California Milk Advisory Board had to do some serious PR work.
They put out the following press release Setting The Record Straight
You really need to read the press release called Setting The Record Straight ( highlighted in blue above) and pay particular
attention to Fact 3 where they say the following: “The California dairy industry is facing its worst economic downturn since the Great Depression. The situation has been so bad that 10 percent of dairies in California have been forced to shut down and sell off their cows. It’s more important than ever to spend producer dollars efficiently.
Ok, so remember that highlighted portion in Fact 3?
No read this portion below from Fact 2 ; The Cheese Board must not have thought to much about this one:
“To put this in perspective, four days total will be spent in New Zealand: one for pre-production and three for shooting. After this minor portion of production is done, the footage will be brought back to California where it will take six-to-eight weeks to finish each of the 10 new commercials“.
If Fact 2 is true about the dairy industry in California facing its worst economic downturn, then why are they doing 10 commercials??
Does the dairy board realize that they can save 50% by only doing five commercials?
Do they think that we will write them letters and call them and demand that we want our 10 completely different California Cheese Commercials, and that we are tired of watching the same 5 commercials?
Gimme a break!
Maybe if they did 5 commercials instead of 10 they would not have to go out of state or out of the country to film their commercials.
We love California Cheese and California Milk in our house, we support our state and our local economy.
Hey California Milk Advisory Board, why don’t you do the same?
