This blog posting makes for #67 for me.
(Please feel free to peruse the previous 66 by clicking Recent Articles in the menu bar)
This one is about our neighbors to the north, San Francisco. Â I love San Francisco and the surrounding area, I call San Francisco the city that has weather.
Its almost been a year since I started this blogsite and its been a lot of fun getting my writing “chops” back since I did my favorite book report about Willie Mays (who played for the SF Giants and was my sports hero growing up) in 5th grade. (I wonder if my mother saved a copy of that bookreport?)
Whats been interesting about blogging has been that its fairly easy to blog.
I have a few rules about blogging, but one main rule:
1. Be a responsible blogger (check your facts) (as of 2009 there were over 128 million blogsites)
2. Make the blog postings interesting, put some pictures, some video and keep it informative, and try to keep it short.
Don’t just write about something that you heard or even read, make sure that its the truth and that it can be backed up.
Since this blog is called ShootMoviesInCalifornia.com I also try to stay on subject.
What’s also great about blogging is that you get to write about what is passionate to you and you start to create a following which can be very rewarding.
Social media (Facebook, Twitter, Plaxo, LinkedIn, the list can go on and on, and you’d never leave your house or your computer screen!) is pretty amazing if used properly and not abused.
To date I have about  350 followers to my blog and as of today Sunday October 17th 2010 we are 25 people short of  16,000 in the 3 Facebook Groups that I started almost a year ago.
Here are links to the 3 Facebook groups:
Todays blog idea came from a grammer and high school friend who I reconnected with on Facebook.
Jeff sent me this Facebook message today saying the following:
If you click on the blue highlighted work LINK you can read the article that Jeff so thoughtfully sent to me.
Thanks Jeff and also to anyone of you that reads my blog and are also passionate about living and working in California, whether it is in the film industry or another industry.
I started this blog because I was tired of all the film work being suck out of California and because I don’t want to move from California and chase the lucrative tax incentives from one state and or country to the next.
It is also my belief that many people that work in the film industry in California will move and I know of many that have moved because they just cannot find enough work here in California to make it feasible for them to stay here in California.
If your a follower of the blog and feel the same way I do, please feel free to send me ideas and or articles to expound upon and please forward my blog postings to anyone. I am trying to get 1000 followers by the end of this year.
Its easy to follow a blog, All you have to do is drop in your email address on the main page and confirm that you did this when you get an email from Feedburner, and thats it!
From that point on, any time I blog, my blog postings will get “pushed” to you in an email and thats it, your now a blog follower.
Thanks so much.
